What's My IP, Sis ("whatsmyipsis.com", "we") is a free tool that shows you your IP address and related connection details. We built it to be as private as a site like this can be. This page explains what happens with your data in plain language.

What we collect: almost nothing

We do not require accounts, we do not set our own tracking cookies, and we do not store the IP addresses you check in any database of ours. The IP details shown on your screen are fetched live and displayed to you; we keep no copy.

Data processed to make the site work

Showing you your IP details requires, by definition, processing your IP address. When you load the site, your browser contacts these services directly:

ipify (api.ipify.org) to detect your IP address.
ipwhois (ipwho.is) to look up the location, ISP, and network type of an IP.
Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) to fetch weather for your approximate area (coordinates only, never your IP).
OpenStreetMap (openstreetmap.org) to display map tiles.

These providers receive your IP address as a technical necessity of answering the request, the same as any website you visit. Each has its own privacy policy.

Hosting and logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes visitor IP addresses to deliver and secure the site and provides us aggregate statistics (such as total visits per page). We do not maintain our own server logs.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. It shows us aggregate numbers (page views, referrers, countries). It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other sites.

Affiliate links and ads

Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy a product (such as a VPN subscription) after clicking. This costs you nothing extra. If you click such a link, the destination site sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Pages containing affiliate links are marked with a disclosure.

Your rights

Since we don't store personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to delete or export. If you believe we hold personal data about you, or have any privacy question, contact us at hello@whatsmyipsis.com and we will respond.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we knowingly collect no data from anyone.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update this page and the date above. Meaningful changes (like adding an ad network) will be reflected here before they go live.
